DVRRDK 4.0 udevd error:

Did you build your own filesystem or are you using the filesystem packaged with DVR RDK 4.0.Make sure you chmod on the filesystem to enable write permission.

How to build the filesystem?

I use the following commang,but no response.

I use the filesystem in DVRRDK 4.0.untar nfs_DM816x_DVR.tar.gz file.

This might be an issue with your host system not being compatible with prebuilt mkfs.ubifs.

But I can use the following command in my Ubuntu 10.04 Host:

mkfs.ubifs -r /opt/dvrrdk/DVRRDK_04.00.00.03/target/rfs_816x/  -o dm8168_rdk4.img -m 2048 -e 126976 -c 3037

I think mkfs.ubifs maybe can be run in my host.

I just cannot use "make -s ubifs_128".

No matter whether I use Ubifs or NFS,the error always be there.

ubifs issue
1. Remove -s from command line. Ensure that the binaries are already available in target/ folder which mean you should have done make -s earlier.

booting issue

1. Are you using default kernel image (release version) or rebuilt? If rebuilt, have you enabled all options as per the defconfig files in release package?

2. Is the rootfs mount going thro and login prompt appears? Ignoring these error messages, are you able to proceed with app execution?

I solved the

error sending message: Connection refused
udevadm[79]: error sending message: Connection refused

By Opening a option(Inotify) in Kernel according to your suggestion.

Bu there are still a error:

modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.37/modules.dep: No such file or directory

In the rfs packaged with DVRRDK 4.0,there are no file in  /lib/modules/2.6.37/ folder.But in DVRRDK 3.5 or DVRRDK 3.0,there are files in the folder.

How to solve it?I copy the file from DVRRDK 3.5 package,but, I don't think it's a good idea.

The release rootfs tar should have this folder. Anyways you can copy this file.

Ignoring this error, are you getting login prompt or bootup is struck here?

I can get login prompt.

But I think moduledep is a problem.

and /lib/modules/2.6.37/modules.dep/lib/modules/2.6.37/modules.dep,why in RDK 3.5/3.0,there are such file.But in RDk 4.0,it disappear?

Proble is caused by NFS setting.After I set to RW,it is OK.And the files will be auto generated in folder /lib/module/2.6.37.

PS:in my host,/etc/exports file's NFS setting should be in a same line.But I set folder in a line,and RW in next line.So,always it is READ ONLY.
