sspi command enable in u-boot shell

Hi Anji,

did you check if its defined #define CONFIG_CMD_SPI" in the file "include/configs/*your file" directory?

Please provide additional info which version of U-boot are you using and have you ported some drivers to it?

I am using "u-boot-ics-chipsee-panda-0524" u-boot source code and and "#define CONFIG_CMD_SPI"  in /include/configs/*** directory in which file i need to add.

Sorry for the typo. You define CFG_CMD_SPI  in your header file for your hardware. Browse this directory and include it there. ( mine file was omap44XXpanda.h ).

Also check if this file is available in your u-boot  common/cmd_spi.c.

"sspi" command has enabled thanks for your reply. And i have one more doubt, for my omap4460 processor one peripheral device has connected using "McSPI" interface,now i want to test that peripheral device in u-boot by using "sspi" command just by doing read/write operations.Please help me on that.

Hi Anji,

if you examine this file common/cmd_spi.c you will see how the command set is used. You can allways modify it and get a little bit more advanced by applying patches  like this one:

Hi Boyko,

I am using 'sspi' command for testing my peripheral device that is connected to 'Mcspi1'  bus with bus = 0,CS(chip select) = 2 and mode =0 for omap4460 processor. I made changes in file /drivers/spi/omap3_spi.c for 4460 processor bcz Mcspi1 internal registers offset address for omap3 and omap4 are different. 

My code is working fine without any error's but what ever i am sending hexadecimal data i am not getting same.In u boot shell i am giving command like this

sspi  0:2.0 32 A

Here

'0' is bus number 0

'2' is chip select 2

'0' is mode 0

'A' is hexa decimal data for Tx/Rx

But receiving data i am getting different not same as 'A'. Please can u help me on this issue.

What kind of value did you received? and did you try to send less than 32 bits?

Hi Boyko,

I have tried like follwoing

1) sspi 0:2.0 32 25 if i give command like this, i am getting "din" buffer output "001FFE00"

2) sspi 0:2.0 32 A  if i give command like this, i am getting "din" buffer "007FF800"

And i also tried sending less 32 bits like following

1) sspi o:2.0 16 10 if i give command like this, i am getting "din" buffer output "0000"

Oddly i wasn't able to recreate your conditions. Did you try without the bus/mode patch and eventually to easy things up with this output compare sequence.
