AM33x openembedded custom image building

Hi,

 

i am trying to do the labs of the Sitara Linux Training: Getting Started with Openembedded, i attach you the link:

When i do the Lab4 and i am trying to build the new image (MACHINE=am335x-evm bitbake custom-base-image), i get the next message from my Linux shell:

I keep waiting during a long time for this task to finish without success. Any idea about this?

    How long is a long time?

    That recipe is fetching the kernel's sources which is extremely large especially since it is also including all the git commits. Also the server that this git repository can sometimes run slow if alot of people are trying to request fairly large git repositories at the same time.

    It has taken me 2+ hours before to fetch that particular kernel sources. If it takes more than 5 hours then you could be running into a problem. I would recommend not to manually cancel since you will end up starting from scratch.

    Thanks, it is now working ok. I have another doubt that you maybe could help. I am working with the external Linaro toolchain. If i am not wrong TCMODE variable should be set to "external-linaro". I am trying to find the file where this variable is set but i am not able to find it. Do you know where it is set?
