AM3517_EVM Android on 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04

Hi Andrew,

Ubuntu 10.04 (32 bit) is recommended for using Gingerbread sources.

Please refer to below developer guide for more details on host (PC) setup requirements.

I saw the recommendation, but I only have this Ubuntu 12 machine are you saying it is not possible?

Should I try a vritual machine on my windows box?

This DevKit has been tested on Ubuntu 10.04 machine. You may end up in compilation issues on Ubuntu 12.

Yes. You can try it on on virtual machine with Ubuntu 10.04

OK...

I now have a 10.04 32-bit system running kde 4.4.5. I am running through the steps in the TI-Android-ICS-4.0.3-Devkit-3.0.0_Developers_Gude

I still get stuck installing Java "sun-java6-sdk" :-(

I get the error message "no instal candidate"

Any ideas?

Sometimes times I think it's just not meant to be!

When I try to init the git repo, I get a fatal error:

"fatal: Git 1.7.2 or later required"

When I type "git version" it reports

1.7.0.4

But when I try

sudo apt-get install git-core

It says I am already at the latest version!

Anybody know how I fix this?
