DSK vs SDK tools

Hi,

I have a fundamental question and I hope find a detailed answer.

When using TI products especially DSP, We find: Evaluation Modules (EVM) e.g. in the case of TI’ DSPC6678, the DSP Starter Kits ( e.g DSPC5402) and the SDKs “Software Development Kits” .

What is exactly the difference between all these tools??

I read the definition of these therms in ti wiki, but I need more details that I will be able to distinguish each of them.

Good question. In my opinion, fundamental question is normally the hardest to answer. Please allow my to try:

EVM normally has all the hardwares to utlilize/demostrate the peripherals/features supported by that device. On the other hand, SDK normally has less hardware but rich in software tools for code devlopment, like BIOS, drivers.

The difference between EVM and SDK is clear now. So what's about DSK "DSP Starter Kit" ?

Starter Kit is basically same as EVM.
