DM3730/DM81xx Driver Compatibility

Regarding the interfaces common to the DM3730 and the DM81xx family, can the same drivers be used? I ask because our system requires PCIe (which the DM3730 does not have, but the DM81xx does), but it would be helpful if our software developers could use Beagle Boards for driver and software development while I design the hardware. The software must be DO-178 compliant. Why not buy a DO-178 RTOS you ask? Too expensive, the application currently runs bare metal on a Celeron, and our software group has DO-178 experience.

Hi Scott,

Both platforms DM37xx and DM81xx have the ARM core - Cortex A8 but their peripheries are very different. The drives are related to particular hardware and many of the drivers for both platforms are different but the DM3730 could be use only if you have the same hardware periphery.

Thanks Tsvetolin. This is about what I expected. I think I'll tack a small FPGA with PCIe on the GPIO port of the DM37xx.
