hi,

now we are using am3359 and SPANSION flash S34MLO4G100TF100 , and the SYSBOOT[4:0] is set to 00100.

it can boot from UART,MMC0 and NAND normally, but we found that if we write/erase the flash, it can't boot from nand, the terminal stoped at 'CCCCCC'

the picture shows when boot from flash, we erase the filesystem area, then reset the board, it stoped at CC.

at this time, if we power down the board, then power up it (using TPS65910), the board can boot normally

Can you check the state of your SYSBOOT pins at the time you cannot boot? They may have changed so as to prevent NAND boot.

Thanks for your reply, we tested SYSBOOT[4:0] is 00100 when it can't boot,

the SYSBOOT[8] is set to 1, and our flash is 8 bit , is it correct?

No, SYSBOOT[8]=1 means 16-bit NAND.

Now we changed SYSBOOT[8]=0, but the phenomenon still exist.

are there anything we can check?

Can you read the contents of the control_status register (0x44E1_0040) at the time when the board doesn't boot? This will need to be done through JTAG probably.

Thanks for your reply, we have no XDS ,so we read the reg in SPL,and it says that control_status register (0x44E1_0040) is 0x420304,

whe the board is in wrong statu, it can boot from UART normally, but can't boot from nand.

Hi Yi li,

Accordign to the control_status register your SYSBOOT[15:0] values should be 0100 0010 0000 0100b. This should correspond to 24MHz crystal frequency, ECC done by NAND, 8-bit device, CLKOUT1 disabled, boot sequence UART0, XIP w/WAIT(MUX1), MMC0, NAND. Can you try changing SYSBOOT[9] to 0 (ECC done by ROM code)?

hi,

we changed SYSBOOT[9] to 0 ,but the board still can't boot after

nand erase 0x780000 0xF880000

and now we found another problem. when we reset the board with RTC_PWRONRSTN or command "reset" (no erase flash)in uboot, the board print "CCCCC" and then paused, after about 4 minutes, the board print SPL start message, is the "XIP w/WAIT(MUX1)" wait that 4 minutes? additionally, we never found that phenomenon before, and the hardware does not changed

This is strange. This long delay is typical when the board is trying to boot from EMAC1. Please note that RTC_PWRONRSTN resets only the RTC section of the processor.
