[AM335x] ADC max gain and offset error

Hi,

The Gain and Offset errors are specified as 'Nominal' in Datasheet Table 3-17. TSC_ADC Electrical Parameters.

-What are these values as 'Maximum' over temp and process?

Hi Magnus,

Temperature and process are already accounted for in the documented ADC specifications. The ADC should not violate those specifications while the device is operating within it's specified temperature range.

Please answer the question without 'should' or 'would' please.

Let me rephrase it:

-Given that these errors are following a normal distribution over devices and their operating specs, can you confirm that the magnitude of them (+/- 2LSB) correspond to the 6-sigma limits, as defined by

Our analog parts Min/Max values are often based on 6-sigma.

-We would like to know the probability that the errors are greater than the specified +/-2 LSB.

For 6-sigma that probability is <0.00034%.

The above answer is directly quoted from the factory team, who have replied to an identical question on an internal forum. Other than what is published in the datasheet there is no other publicly available information.

The maximum values for these parameters are not published in the data sheet because they are not measured on every device as part of the standard production test flow. Not testing these parameters reduces test time and allows TI to offer a lower cost product to our customers.
