[OMAP3530] A problem downloading EBOOT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

Using Texas Instruments' EVMFlash 3530 utility for Micron memory (v1.2.1.0), I have tried to download the TIEVM3530-nand.raw image file to the EVM (my EVM has a Micron NAND flash). This image file is taken from the Bsquare BSP and contains both XLDR and EBOOT images.

I have set the EVMFlash download as instructed in the BSP user's guide (UART port:1, baud: 115200, mode: boot rom, device type: NAND, erase entire flash, verify download). The board's DIP switch is configured appropriately (2 and 4 switches are on). The serial cable is connected to UART3, and I start the download while the board is still not powered. The message "reset target to proceed" appears. Then, I power on the board and expect the process to start, but nothing happens. The same message still appears, and no progress is marked by the EVMFlash utility.

What is missing here? I would appreciate your help.

We regret that we did not have a timely response to your question.  I am new to the ARM MPU software applications team and will be specializing in WinCE issues.

I have recently gone thru the bring-up experience with an OMAP3530 EVM for WinCE.  Let me know If you are still having issues.

  • Hi Michael,

We do have a customer that has the same problem as described above. They are trying to write EBOOT to the OMAP3530 EVM using EVMFlash.
Seems that the Bootloader is answering accordingly with 40W when connecting the UART to the terminal.

But when using EVM Flash utility it halts after reading the ASIC id and never progresses beyond this.  They have replicated the setup on a freshly installed, 32 bit, Windows XP SP3 machine and they get exactly the same results with all versions of the software (1.1, 1.2, 1.6 and 2.0).
    What can be checked?

    Thanks and best regards,

    Anthony
