NOR Flashing tool for TMDXEVM3358

Hi All

I can't erase or flash nor memory in the condtion as below.

Board:TMDXEVM3358

Profile selection: 0x3(SW1,2=ON,SW3,4=OFF)

CCS:v5.4

Base address of NOR flash:0x8000000

I find,

nand_flash_writer_AM335x.out

spi_flash_writer_AM335X.out

in C:\ti\AM335X_StarterWare_02_00_01_01\tools\flash_writer. But out file for nor flash is nothing.

Please tell me, How should I do for erasing or programing nor flash memory.

Hi Taira,

Currenly we do not support NOR flash in StarterWare 02.00.01.00 or the previous releases.

Now, I'm in Step1.

Step 1: Download and Install AM335x Flash Image Builder

The AM335x Flash Image Builder is part of the FLASHTOOL-AM335x software tool that is available at http://www.ti.com/tool/flashtool

I get flashtool(Flash_Tool_01_06_00_00.zip). And unzip this file.

Then, 3 files(FlashInstaller.msi,Release_Notes.txt,setup.exe) are generated.

"am335x-flash-image-builder-01.xx.yy.zz-Linux-x86-Install " is not included.

I execute "setup.exe" to try. But "flash v1.6" is installed only. Linux intall file is not generated.

How should I do for getting two files as below,

am335x-flash-image-builder-01.xx.yy.zz-Linux-x86-Install

am335x-flash-programmer-01.xx.yy.zz-Linux-x86-Install

Not only the linux files are missing, even the windows tool doesn't provide the am335x (in the "choose target" dropdown menu). As mentioned correctly on the download page: "[..] can be used to transfer binary images from a host PC to TI Sitara AM35x, AM37x, DM37x and OMAP35x target platforms".

So the question remains, why is that link on the am335x wiki page? Even more important, is there a flash tool for the am335x family?
