Why TI cannot provide unified driver for SYS BIOS or TI-RTOS?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

Hi,TI expert!

I see TI-RTOS had provided a device driver for supported chips, but not for C2000 series, I also see motorware package also provide a driver for F28069, but they are not the same naming or compatible.

I think TI shall provide an unified device driver for all supported MCU or DSP(arm,430,DSP, etc.)

Does TI plan to do this?

  • While we would agree that we should provide TI-RTOS drivers for all devices, we don't have resources to do so at this time. You will see:

    1. TI-RTOS ports availble for more devices in the future

    2. TI-RTOS drivers available for a greater variety of peripherals in the future

At this time, we support the C28+ARM devices, but not the C28-only devices. This may change in a few months but I can't commit to anything at this time.
