Hi All,

We are planning to build a low cost board with touch screen , and LCD display ,

Can any one suggest a low cost processor or controller to start with.

Hi Pubesh,

We are planning a very cost device , we only need a touch screen and a display ,

am335x seems to be costly , can you tell me any much cheaper microcontroller / processor .

device functionality is to accept some touch events . and process it display the results.

Can you tell me which is the cheapest processor/controller which have support for display?

Hi Dibin,

I don’t know what is the size of the LCD display are you looking for 3.5 inch, 4.5 inch or 7.5 inch?

If you’re looking for 3.5 inch display, I can suggest you to go with stellaris LM4F120 Launch pad Evaluation kit and the 3.5 inch LCD booster pack with resistive touch screen offered by kinetic electronics at 35.00$ and the LM4F120 Launch pad at 7.99 $

Hi Antony ,

Thankyou very much for your response , Now i can start my software work.

If possible can you suggest the software starting point too, Is it good to start with RTOS. or do i need to develop a new firmware.

Hi Dibin,

It depends upon your application and the user to check whether to use RTOS or general API calls

Am planning to go with RTOS , as it will be easy to integrate Display and touch screen.

As I mentioned above just need to receive touchscreen events and to change display ,
