According to the datasheet, there seems to be some flexibility of the DDR3 interfact for voltage levels, minus the PLL. With this in mind, is DDR3L (1.35V) supported on the C6655?

Hi Reagan,
At this time the C6655 has not been characterized for use with DDR3L components using a 1.35V interface. Only the use of the 1.5V interface is allowed.

Bill,
Is above still true in that no characterization has been done on C6655 for supporting DDR3L 1.35V levels? Most posts on this topic are fairly old. Most memory devices on Micron/Spansion longevity list are 1.35V devices and we need availability for 10+ years since we are in industrial space. The AM335x processor we are using supports both DDR3 & DDR3L and it would be ideal if I could same DDR3 device on DSP as well.

James
Hi James,
Currently the C6655 does not support the DDR3L with a 1.35V IO level, however, DDR3L devices are compatible with DDR3 devices and will operate at either 1.35V IO levels or 1.5V IO levels. This is why the DDR3 devices have been disappearing so quickly. You may use DDR3L devices with the C6655 but keep the IO voltage set to 1.5V.
