Hi all,

I 'm working on dm8107 which is a custom board.

When I set DDR3 working at 400MHZ,It can work well

But When I set DDR3 working at 533MHZ,we can enter linux system.

while the rdk demo can only run about several minutes and then the board would crash

In both cases the ARM clock is 720MHZ,HDVPSS and L3 is 240MHZ,ISS is 480MHZ, IVA is 390MHZ.

My DDR3 is 256MB and the bus width is 16bit

the rdk demo is a network-vdec-vdis demo

  • Hi:

As far as I know ,only when  DM8107's supply  voltage is OPP_TURBO , the DDR3 can get to 533MHZ.

So I modified the CVDD,CVDD_ARM,CVDD_HDVICP to 1.35V. But is has no use.

         Now I find VDD_MPU_OPP_166 Register,VDD_HDVICP_OPP_166 Register,VDD_CORE_OPP_166 Register

in datasheet. So I want to know whether the registers have use and how I can configure them.

        thanks

  • Hi,

If you are using a customized board, you need to

    1. make sure the HW design rules obey the DDR3 rules.

    2. If you changed the DDR3 chips, modify DDR3 registers according to your DDR3 spec.

    3. Do DDR SW leveling as well.

Please go to ti processor wiki for the items mentioned.

  • Hi Eason

          Thanks for your reply

I have found the reason, it caused by poor welding

  • Hi quan wang,

same issue is observed by me.It observed in some the board only.
