syslink failure during omx component init...

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 4430

Hello,

I have a question about omap 4430 on pandaboard a5, I used Angstrom distro built online with omap4430-panda

option, please see this link, http://narcissus.angstrom-distribution.org/. it came with ipu and dce m3 binaries plus

syslink_daemon.out, I can load these binaries correctly at boot time. however, I used some existing omap4

development platform (user space omx and syslink) to develop some app, the syslink alwyas failed prior to

load any omx components, perhaps the version problems? can you please help and so much appreciated...

  • Hello,

Have you tried building the kernel on your host machine, that way you have more control on choosing the correct component versions & environment settings.

You can find source tree links here: http://omappedia.org/wiki/Source_Trees

Build instructions are available here: http://omappedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_kernel_for_OMAP4

    Best Regards,

    Yordan

  • Hi Yordan,

Thank you very much for reply, somehow I posted this question after intensive study and digging,

so whatever possible resolutions on public domain were exhausted already, in short, what I really

need is a list, solid confirmative list regards to version # of the following, which can eventually guarantee

work out on both end of OMAP4 IPC,

    1. user domain openmax

    2. user domain syslink

    3. user domain tiler

    4. rerout IPC on sys M3

    5. dce IPC on app M3

    6. linux kernel on A9 (kernel space syslink)

    10 most reliable toolchain

Thank you so much, any one of you would answer, in advance.
