Hi,

Firstly, I want to inform I have no experience in programming DSP devices like OMAPL138. I am doing a group project at University and major task is to work with OMAPL138. I have received almost complete evaluation kit - except the SD cards. I have encountered several problems and according to them I need help.

1) How simply can I prepare bootable SD card? I have tried to do this with tutorials, but my attempts failed. For example I struggled with http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/How_to_boot_OMAP-L138_LCDK_from_SD_card , and no positive result. There were no response from the board after connecting with puTTy.

2) However, major task is to just use this kit in the project, so using the bootable SD is not crucial. I would be grateful if anybody provide information about the simplest way to run DSP without ARM.

Thanks for all replies and help given.

Finally it worked and I can freely load programs and debug them via JTAG emulator. Now, I have several questions, due to my doubts.

1) I read about integrating OpenCV library and DSP processor on OMAP-L138 board. I saw a face detect demo, but I did not find any really simple tutorial how to use OpenCV lib. Where I can find information about connecting this library and OMAP-L138?
2) The main goal is object tracking. I consider using two servomechanisms for moving the image sensor. According to the moving 'module' - is there any possibility to control this mechanisms via OMAP-L138? I am thinking of I/O ports.

3.1) Image sensor. Firstly, I thought about usb webcam as a simple image sensor, but I read on forum that is not possible, because this board does not support them. Is it true?

3.2) I consider buying an image sensor. I found these two the most interesting:

Here comes a doubt. Are they proper for this kind of board? I do not know how to pick the right one for the simpliest usage.

4) I also heard about TI image processing library for OMAP-L138 board. Is it more advanced than the OpenCV lib? I am asking, because I have some experience with OpenCV. Would you recommend using this dedicated library?

I can only work with (program) DSP processor. I would be grateful if you take it into your consideration while replying to my post.
