C6678 EMIF16 to FPGA Spartan-6 SelectMAP interface

Hi Murad,

I am not familiar with the Slave SelectMAP mode but it looks like a clock serial interface in the documentation. EMIF16 is an asynchronous parallel interface so I don't think that would work well for this purpose. I don't know if this is compatible with SPI, you'll have to check with Xilinx. You could bit-bang the interface using GPIOs as well.

SelectMAP is a Byte Peripheral Interface (BPI) that requires 8/16 lines of Data, Chip Select, and Configuration Clock (CCLK). The bitstream is loaded one byte per rising CCLK edge.

EMIF16 User Guide SPRUGZ3A (page 28) says: "Write enable EMIFWEn behaves as a clock-command, address, or data are clocked into the NAND device on the rising edge of EMIFWEn."

Does this means that I can use EMIFWEn as a CCLK?

Hi Murad,

Based on the information you presented here, I sounds like the WE going high could be used as CCLK. You will need to program the EMIF so that the necessary hold time is present on the data after the rising edge of WE.
