automatic focusing,the glass ,focus value

Hi,
I am currently doing the task of automatic focusing on 368 platform.I want to ask if the glass influence focus value,and the influence of glass need to be considered.

Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean by glass ? the protection glass in front of lens?

Thank you for your reply, I mean that the glass is part of the scene.I am doing the work of auto focus of camera .When it is focus ,does the update of focus value need time ,how long? I will be very grateful your reply.
