FPGA AT25128B Flash reprogramming

Hi Murad,

All EVM related firmware and downloads are provided by Advantech on the following wiki:

http://www.advantech.com/Support/TI-EVM/6678le_download3.aspx

The MCSDK also includes utilities to re-program the EVM which can be found under the path MCSDK_2_01_xx_xx\program_evm.Please refer to the program_evm_userguide.pdf.

Let us know if you don`t find the required files and we can request the board manufacturer to help with this issue.

I've been to Advantech website and in secion 2.6 of the following document they say a utility is available...I can't find this utility anywhere within the CCS/EVK SW installed

Hi Murad,

Did you check the MCSDK install folder program_evm. I checked that folder and it seems to contain pre-built binaries to re-program the EVM with the firmware along with the documentation.

Hello Rahul,

I did but nothing to re-program the FPGA with new configurations file...Even if I want the JTAG for "indirect SPI serial Programming: http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx11/pim_c_introduction_indirect_programming.htm", AT25128B is not supported...I am not sure if in-circuit reprogramming of the FPGA is possible and why they mentioned it is in the .doc above!

Any idea?...and how can we get the FPGA full ocde, not just the pieces Advantech posted on their website?

Why do you want to change the FPGA code on the EVM? We do not provide complete source for building variations to the FPGA functionality.  This is beyond our support limits.

We are designing a similar board and want to be able to reconfigure the FPGA remotly. We wanted to test this functionality with the EVM before we proceed with the design specially that they mentioned you that you can in the above document.

The FPGA code will be very helpful for our design. we are using SPARTAN 6 and kept a lot of the functionalities of the EVM

just to make sure we are on the same page:

Advantech already has .bit file for the FPGA posted on their website. I am looking for a tool to reprogram this file into the FPGA on the C6678 EVM board. are you providing them with this tool or the FPGA source code and is it possible to email it to me as well!

I have provided a tool that they can place on their website that will allow you to load a bit file from the DSP using CCS.
