OMAP 3530 and the Beagleboard

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

I am considering using the Beagleboard as a development platform.

Is it possible to disable the 3530 functionality so as to "simulate" other platform members such as the 3525,3515 and the 3503, the result being the ability to get a performance profile of each of the product family members.

i appreciate this profile would not be an exact match, but should be somewhat accurate.

Thanks

What you have described is certainly a reasonable approach.  I would advise that you read the PRCM chapter in the OMAP3530 Technical Reference Manual (SPRUF98) to understand how you can ensure the Graphics Accelerator and DSP Subsystem are turned off.

  • Hi,

I use Omap 3530 on Beagle like you. I want to get about 3 Mbps bitrate video stream from an encoder to Beagle. I think i need to use McBSP on OMAP 3530 but at this point i don't know how to configure McBSP. What is your suggestion about it?

    Thx in Advance.
