help with beagle board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

Hello,

I'm gonna buy a Beagle Board and i'd like to install windows CE on it.

I want to develop some simple application handling gpio's, I2C, SPI in order to connect external components to the beagle board.

I'm getting information about what i need to do that but i'm rather confused.

Does TI have a windows CE version ported on the Beagle Board ? Which IDE do i have to use for application developement?

Are there SPI, I2Cdriver already written?

Do I need to purchase some licence?

Thanks in advance helping me.

Andrea

  • The Beagle Board is really supported through beagleboard.org and the open source community. Linux is the main OS supported.  Off of the main page of beagleboard.org I found this link http://beagleboard.org/project/WEBB/ for information on WinCE.

  • Thanks for your reply and for the link as well.

I've found on the TI web site some information about Windows CE and omap 3530.

    http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/s1sdkwce.html

If I well understood TI provides a set of software developed for the omap3530 including a version of windows CE with the BSP allowing to handle the hardware peripheral. Is that right?

Does the TI DVSDK contain tools that allow programmers to write application for omap3530 on top of windows CE?

Have you got any suggestion on how to start the developement I need to do?

    Thanks again.

  • Hi :

I've purchased a OMAP3530 mini board, and I want to develop some simple applications such as GPIOs, I2C, SPI, UART. Where should I to find out some samples about this?

         Thanks a lot.
