I'm planning on a multi-channel video application development and came across DM642 and DM648 development kit. But I'm not sure which is one would be the best for me. Can anyone describe the major differences between these two kits, besides, obviously using different DSP chip. I know DM648 is newer generation than DM642 and has 5 dual ch video ports vs 3 for DM642. But why the price of DM642 is much more than DM648 ($2000 vs $1300)? Please provide some detailed info about both dev kits so that I can make my decision as to which one to go with.
