AM335x Mcasp Bypassing function

I'm using AM335x and AIC3262 audio codec. I need to use 3 kind of audio (GSM,BT,Music).

Find my block diagram

Like this i'm connecting my audio devices in case of GSM--> BT audio routing i facing some issue.

AIC3262 bypassing ASI3 to ASI2, and ASI2 connected with AM335x in MCASP1 and BT connected with MCAAP0.

My questions are,

1. Can i bypass the signal from MCASP1 to MCASP0

2. If its not possible, any other way to do it kind of transferring BUFFER between the MCASP

Summery is how to transfer the data between two MCASP in AM335X ?

Hi,

About bypassing inside the AM335x McASP1 to McASP0 it is always possible to do that in software routine by reading from one McASP and writing directly to another.

Please note that FIFO buffers of every McASP are assigned to this particular McASP module and can not be accessed from the other module.

You are right, i checked the AM335x TRM.

Then whats the proper procedure to do it? Any other way?

Hi,

The procedure really depends on what software package you are using. If it is linux you can design a kernel module containing the SW routine to redirect the data from one McASP module to another. I don't think that any other way is possible except the SW approach.

Hi,

I'm using Android SW package. As mentioned in TRM FIFO buffer is can't be share so how can i transfer?

Hi,

I am not familiar with Android SW, but I think you can build in this redirection routine in your application or do it as android driver. Sorry I am not deeply involved in high level SW development.

You just have to read from first McASP buffer and write the data directly to the other McASP buffer. May be you can also use DMA channel for this.
