RTA issues on ccs 4.2 (printf logs)

I'm using CCS 4.2 to debug my code, I need the printf logs window when my code is running on the target.

Previously I had no issues to go to tools->RTA->printf logs, but now I can't because all options under RTA are grayed out!

Is there any way to bring them back or am I doing something wrong?

I'm using seed-xds560plus emulator, on CCS 4.2 with DSP/BIOS version 5..42.0.07 and compiler version 7.2.8

Hi Sina,

Sorry for the delayed response. Can you list the steps you are taking (connecting target, loading code, etc)? Can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing? What device are you running code on?

I build my code, hit debug, hit run, the code runs on the target without any problems, when I try to view the printf logs under RTA it will give me a bunch of grayed out options.
Target board is TMS320C6748.

Hi Sina,

Were you using an older version of CCS before (just changed to CCS 4.2)?

Hi Emmanuel,

I went through it before, checked all the configurations, also try adding and correcting the registers, but no luck.

Searched the forum too, it seems there have been other users having the same problem, but there was no verified answer provided.

Would it be possible for you to update to a newer version of CCS? I'm not aware of any specific bugs related to this in 4.2, but it would probably be easier to debug and support you if you updated to more current version.
