Deciphering OMAP3530 pin names

Hi-

What does the "S" mean in names that start "VDDS" (versus just "VDD")?

What does "ft" mean in names such as "pop_vss_ft"?

This is a historical nomenclature that TI has used to identify voltage rails associated with the I/O.  For many DSP and Application processor devices, there are at least 2 voltages (usually more).  One supplies the CPU and logic inside the device (ie. VDD) and the other provides a different, higher voltage to the I/O (ie. VDDS).

These pins are Feed Throughs (ft) from the top pad of a POP package to a bottom ball.  Feed Through signals do not connect to the silicon inside the package.  They can be considered as essentially wire from the bottom ball to the top pad of the POP package.  They are used for providing power to the POP memory, etc.

Thanks. "ft" threw me, since I assumed that "POP" indicated the signal went directly to the POP pins and all I could think of for "ft" was "foot".
