Linux application profiling recommendations

Hello,

I'd like to profile a Linux application to get per-function performance numbers using an Arago/OpenEmbedded 2.6.29 kernel on a 35xEVM.  I tried gprof and oprofile, but both failed to work for me; the former crashes immediately, the later produces no results.  I was able to get oprofile woking on a BeagleBoard, not not on the EVM.

 

Does anyone have experience with app profiling in a similar environment, or recommendations for another tool?
