AM3358 CAD Symbol

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3358

I'm looking for an Orcad PCB Symbol (Cell) for the AM3358.  Do you have a recommendation.

I started with the AM3358 Product Page--http://www.ti.com/product/am3358

At the bottom there is a link for a file called AM3358_ZCZ_324.bxl.  The Ultra Librarian App uses it to create pads, and symbol drawings for Orcad.  The problem is I'm concerned about the Symbols that are produced.  The pins don't have a Solder Mask.  As such they'll be covered and unusable.

I'm content to hand edit the Pad Files, modify the Orcad Script Files and modify the the componets to be the way I want them to be, but I wanted to check first.  Do I misunderstand?  Should I be using the files as is?  Is there another source?  Or am I right.  The BXL files that I download are starters.  They don't always define things like Solder Mask or Solder Paste and I should use them as a point of departure rather than expect  to be able to use them without modification.

Thanks so much for your time and your help.

  • Additional Notes:

I have downloaded the design files for the Beagle Bone, EVM Board and the Startup Board.  The AM335 Symbols on those boards have differnt sized pins then the the Ultra Librarian Generated Pins I got from the AM3358 Product Page.  The Ultra Librarian Pins have 20 mils (0.508mm) of etch, larger than I would have thought, no solder mask and no solder paste.  The Beagle Bone Pins are 14 mils (0.356mm) with a 14 mil Solder Mask.

I've thought about modifying the Orcad Script Files to use my own Pin Files (based on the Beagle Bone files with 20 mil solder mask).  It's just, it looks like I may want to modify the Ultra Librarian Script Files on many of the parts on my board.  I'm willing to do it.  I just don't want to get wrapped around and axel that I could have avoided and wanted a second opinion.

I've checked the Cadence Library Page and didn't see Library Entries for most of the parts I wanted--

I've also looked closely at the TI Wesite.  All I see are the Ultra Librarian Generated CAN Symbols.  They looks like they provide a great point of departure and I am grateful for them.  I just want to make sure I'm going about this the right way.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to read my words and give me your opinion.  I really appreciate the help.
