3503 vs 3530

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3503, OMAP3530

I need to determine wether I am running on a 3503 or a 3530 at run time.

I guess there is an ID register but I am having a hard time decipher the tech manual.

any ideas?

  • Are you wondering if the device on your omap3evm is a 3503 or a 3530?  If so, we've been putting 3530 on all of them even though we've been selling them as 3503.  I'm not aware of any register you can read.  You would need to read it off the package (though it's tough with a POP memory on top!).

  • Please take a look at Table 1-6 of the OMAP35x Applications Processor Technical Reference Manual (SPRUF98) which illustrates the Chip Indentification register.  This will allow you to distinguish an OMAP3503 versus an OMAP3530.
