omapl137 's USB transmission Speed

The USB2.0 on the omapL137 's mentioned speed is  "USB 2.0 peripheral at speeds high speed (HS: 480 Mb/s - C6747 only) and full speed (FS: 12 Mb/s)"

But what's the highest  captured actual speed in a real application of OmapL137 with the other end is a PC? Do TI people or some user's had tested that parameter?

  • Max throughput would vary depending on the usb application class.  Practically we have seen numbers around 34MBps in the context of MSC applications and we definitely go higher to the tune of 48MBps at the raw usb driver level.

  • hello swami

I just found a table on the performance of USB from the document titled 'lsp_2.20_drivers_data_sheet' ,but the performance is quite weak than you mentioned.

As the following, the highest write speed is about 8MBps.Maybe you can give some suggestions or documents  to achieve 34MBps.

  • Levone,

In your original post you had mentioned details w.r.t C6747 only configuration and hence my reply was based on that configuration.  I missed out on the omapl part of the question.  Apologies for the oversight.

As I had posted the max performance depends on the class application implementation to a large extent.  In the context of the LSP it is pretty much limited by the linux stack implementation of msc class specs and hence the numbers you see.

The ~34MBps figure is based on C6747 only configuration running DSP/BIOS OS.  This package is yet to be released.
