how to use codec engine for application development on Windows CE with OMAP EVM 3530?

Hi , We are considering to use OMAP 3530 for our image processing product.

I know the codec engine along with dsp/biso link are available with DVSDK Linux for OMAP EVM.

I was wondering if codec engine is available on Windows CE (Bsquare) ?

I have installed Windows CE and DVSDK for Windwos CE but I did not find it.

We are worying about the Linux license issue and hope we can develop on Windwos CE instaed ofon Linux to avoid the GPL license issue(we do not want to make our code public)

Thanks for your help!

  • Are you just trying to use some of the audio/video codecs, or are you planning to do something special like write your own algorithm or integrate a 3rd-party codec?  If you just want the out-of-box codecs I see an app note called "App Note - Enable Media Codec Framework on TI OMAP3 EVM Platform running Windows CE 6.pdf" that comes with the WinCE DVSDK.  It is located in the BSP/Documentation folder.  I have version 6.09.  It doesn't look like they shipped the whole Codec Engine software bundle.  It sounds to me like they are just shipping some pre-built pieces to enable you to add that functionality into your image.

  • FYI, I hear that Codec Engine 2.24 due out next month is intended to support WinCE.  That's probably why it's not yet being bundled/distributed.
