USB Keyboard and mouse not detected with WinCE BSp 6.09 on OMAP35x EVM

Hi,

I am booting the OMAP35x EVM off SD card that is loaded with the SD card images provided with WinCE BSP 6.09. The board boots OK, but the attached USB keyboard and mouse are undetected. I learned that BSQUARE have disabled the Hi speed USB hub support in this release and I have tried with low speed USB hub. However, the USB devices attached are not always detected. Has anyone see this problem already.

  • This is a known issue with the WinCE BSP 6.09, the USB driver has been shown to be unstable, and at a minimum you would need to use no hub (if your device is low enough current draw) or an older USB 1.1 hub, and even with the 1.1 hub it can be unreliable, some folks seem to have more luck with it than others. In any case the stability of USB in the 6.09 release has been reported as a major flaw, so hopefully there will be fixes to this in an upcoming release.

In the mean time you may want to try using just a mouse and the on screen keyboard, instead of two USB devices.
