Beagle Bone Black A5A booting issue with minicom

Hi There all developers,

I am using BBB revision A5A, I am following the posts and ended up with some junk characters on minicom console

FYI: using "ti-sdk-am335x-evm-06.00.00.00-Linux-x86-Install" provided by TI

minicom setup details are as follows:

A -    Serial Device      : /dev/ttyUSB0
B - Lockfile Location     : /var/lock
C -   Callin Program      :
D - Callout Program      :
E -    Bps/Par/Bits       : 115200 8N1
F - Hardware Flow Control : No
G - Software Flow Control : No

presuming baud rate is the problem, i have tried with all the combination of baud rate and ended up with same result ( junk characters)

Hi,

I suppose you are using an external serial-to-USB converter. Please make sure your cable is well connected. Can you verify that your converter is operational? Have you used is before?

hello Miroslav,

Yes, i am using external usb-serial converter from ftdi. i had verified the usb-serial converter with loop back (tx and rx pins connected) with which i could get the output on minicom console ( i could see the o/p of the keys pressed on my keyboard on minicom console)

At first i thought its displaying different language (ex Japanese as my BBB was procured from japan) but it seems to be a junk characters.

can you suggest me any other way to sort this out!!!!
