omapL137 's U-boot

It's my first time to design on the omap platform ,could some body pls explain the U-boot system ? From the chapter 4 in LSP_02.20_omap_L137 ducument,the description of U-boot is so lacking.That can't give the answer about what is UBOOt and why we use it and how to set it.

Also the software architecture for omapL137 is a little complicated for a fresh user like me,so could TI people give some comments for new users?The more detailed explaination for every party such as mvl_5_0_0801921_demo_sys_setuplinux.bin,mvl_5_0_demo_target_setuplinux.bin,xdctools_setuplinux_3_10_03.bin.

What is the aim of every party of the software architecture?when and how we implement them?

U-boot is one of the standard boot loaders for loading Linux

Alot of this sort of work requires you to pound your head against the wall for a bit. I would recommend you surf the other posts in this forum. These questions have been asked (and answered) before.
