H.264 encoder on HDVICP2 vs Hierarchical P vs enableAnalyticinfo

Hi all,

We use the analytic info provided be H.264 encoder. Our experience if the Hierarchical P encoding (level 4) is turned on then only every second pictures will contain the analytic info. Is it possible to generete info for every frame?

Hi Lajos,

Hierarchical P encoder design is such a way that it stores motion vectors(temporal motion info) only for shortest current distance frames (viz., alternative frame). So,in the similar line this means that analytic info is also available only for alternative frames.

So, there is no encoder configuration for an user to dump analytic info for every frame in this case.

So, we have to reconfigure the encoder in non Hierarchical Mode.

Lajos,

Yes, by doing so, your expectations shall be met. But, does your applications handles/allows re-configuring of encoder? No side effects? How critical is this requirement(having analytic info in HP configuration)?
