Omap35x boot up problem

I have started working on an Omap 3530 mistral board, I have been facing problem with the boot up using MMC card. The board seems to boot up fine with WinCE bootup image which includes MLO, nk.bin and Eboot, however the board does not start booting with Linux the SD card led is lit, I have followed the necessary step which include creating a FAT32 and ext3. The bootup images mlo, u-boot.bin and uImage on the FAT32 section and the file system in ext3 partition.

Switch SW4 settings which I have tried are:

10011100 (1-8)

01100111 (1-8)

serial ports used :

Uart3

Uart 1/2

File permissions:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 16908 Feb 19 18:15 mlo

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 160608 Feb 19 18:15 u-boot.bin

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1929500 Feb 19 18:15 uImage

Kindly provide suggestions.

You may want to look at this prior thread on the subject, it contains details on the boot mode switches as well as the formatting of the card to which the ROM boot loader can be quite sensitive. My suggestion would be to verify your formatting steps for the card, I typically had success formatting the FAT32 portion with Windows and copying in the three boot files from there.

Hi Bernie,

Thanks for the suggestion, the idea of formating the FAT32 partion of the SD-MMC card in WinXP did the trick. I have been able to bootup the board and now have started working using TFTP server.
