I am new to this and evaluation this product for a project.

I have an application running in a Laptop hosting Red Head Linux. This application simply reads data from a USB port. Can I run this linux application in the eval board with the Montavista Linux demo?

For the release 2 we have now (software schedule: http://focus.ti.com/dsp/docs/dspcontent.tsp?contentId=51127) we just have a preliminary USB driver, so it might not be possible right now. It will be probably possible for the next release (it should be ready soon).

Assuming the proper USB support is built into OMAP-L137 software, you will need to rebuild your application using OMAP-L137 toolchain (your application was built to run in your PC, so you need to rebuild it to run into the ARM9 of OMAP-L137).
