hi,

i am using OMAP 3530 Application processor. i am new to the processor, video and imaging application.

The camera ISP provides interfece to RAW image sensor modules.

Can any one explain the data flow through Camera ISP hardware for CCD and CMOS sensors?

My understanding is Camera ISP supports parallel interface only and not serial interface.Please clarify this.

you are correct, from CCD interface (accepts data from sensor) stand point, you have two modes (SYNC_MODE and ITU_MODE) both of which are parallel interfaces as defined in Camera Interface Subsystem TRM (http://focus.ti.com/lit/ug/sprufa2a/sprufa2a.pdf)

I think this is best shown by the figure in section 12.4.1.1.1 of the OMAP35x TRM, essentially the data can flow a few ways depending on how you want the resulting data in memory to be based on how you configure the ISP registers.

The OMAP35x does support only the parallel interface as Juan mentioned, the OMAP34x variant of the OMAP3 does have a serial camera interface however this part is only for high volume wireless OEMs and ODMs.
