Hi ,

We are using SDK 1.1.0.1 on ICE AM3359

We were trying to do a Soft ware reset upon request of Twincat Master.

We found a function call HW_RestartTager (); in file tiescutils.c in LEDtask

Note :- It is commented //EtherCAT master has requested S/W reset

Can any one help to understand

1) when this function HW_RestartTager (); is called?

2)How to check / Command the ICE board for Soft ware reset with TWINCAT Master?

Hi,

HW_RestartTarget is invoked from LEDTask when Master write a predefined pattern "RST" or "rst" to 0xE14 register

reset_reg_val = bsp_read_dword(ESC_ADDR_TI_ESC_RESET);

if ((reset_reg_val == TI_ESC_RST_CMD_U) ||
(reset_reg_val == TI_ESC_RST_CMD_L))

2) If yes, where to write the pattern from TWINCAT?

(1) From TwinCAT, right click the slave > Advanced settings > ESC Access > Memory

(2) Select 0xE14 as start offset

(3) Write 0x5352 to 0xE14

(4) Write 0x54 to 0xE16
