EVM REV B OK for SDK 1.0?

Hi,

On the OMAP35x EVM board at my hand, it stated that it's REV B (from Mistral). I checked the release notes of the SDK 1.0 - it said it has been tested with Rev C. I'd like to know if I can use safely SDK1.0 for the board that I have.

(Anyway, I found in the SDK0.9.7 doc that was shipped with the board, it already stated that 0.9.7 required REV C. Just wanted to get confirmed that I can go ahead with the new release, esp DVI output).

Thanks!

Weihua

  • I believe the Rev C is referring to the main board as opposed to the processor board, your board should probably say Rev C just below the lower right corner of the LCD. I have one of the earliest boards that were available and it is Rev C, I have never come across a Rev B main board so I suspect you may be looking at the wrong revision label.

The 1.0 SDK should work fine with your board if 0.9.7 worked fine, as to the DVI output you can check if your board has a hardware issue or not by measuring the resistance of R18 as discussed previously here. Unless you have one of the earliest possible boards that were made you probably already have the right resistor value.

  •  Thanks a lot. I checked the label below the LCD - mine is REV D. I will download the new SDK 1.0 and try them out now... :)

     Thanks again.
