AM335x eMMC detection problem

We are using Micron eMMC on MMC0. I can access eMMC with U-Boot, but kernel can’t detect eMMC. (I set gpio_cd, gpio_wp to -EINVAL and it's 4 bit mode same as beaglebone uSD)

I am using “linux-3.2.0-psp04.06.00.11”and board boots from SPI Flash.

Hi,

I can't see anything MMC related in the log, not even a failed attempt to detect it. Can you please share your board-am335xevm.c board file? I'm interested in the mmc initialization.

That's my question too! Why there isn't anything MMC related? even though I initialized HSMMC.

My board file is something like the attached file.

Can you do make menuconfig and enable mmc debug? This might show if the driver init function is getting called.

Sorry I don't have the board with me at the time.
As soon as I get my hands on the board I compile with MMC debug and post the log.

After I compiled kernel with MMC debug, it caused kernel to panic and print lots of errors! (I think in an infinite loop).

I attached part of log.

I just found out that the problem was with spi0_init in this post http://e2e.ti.com/support/arm/sitara_arm/f/791/p/253761/936384.aspx
I fixed it after moving mmc0_init beforce spi0_init.
And I still don't understand why!
