Where can we found the document which tell how to assign DDR memory on K2 tci6638 like DM6446

Hi,My dear experts on  keystone Multicore Forum :

Why I cannot found any document which tell how to assign DDR memory on tci6638EVM ?

I had XTCIEVMK2X Rev1.1 board on my hand. There were DDR3A and DDR3B on the EVM board.

But I cannot find any datasheet or document which tell how to assign DDR memory including DDR3 and DDR3B.

Without that document, I don't know how much DDR3A can be assigned to ARM_A15 ,how much DDR3A

can be assigned to DSP(c6678).

I also don't know how much DDR3B can be assigned to ARM_A15 and How much DDR3B can be assigned to DSP_C6678.

I go back to Davinci  processor_DM6446. I could find that document which told very clearly on SPRAAK7 page 13

or 14.Below was the figure I cut from that datasheet SPRAAK7.

With the picture everything became easily. The memory map was totally under control.

Why I cannot got that document on tci6638evm? Did ti engineers consider it unnecessary?

If something wrong ,Please tell me any time. And any help will be appreciated.

Regards!

  • Hi ti experts:

Did you think what I said above was a problem? How to resolve it?

  • Hi Steve,

Just want to clarify that you are requesting support for TCI6638 and not C6678 since your post mentioned both devices.

I looked up the app note from which you copied the figure (Mastering the Art of Memory Map Configuration for DaVinci-Based Systems). The before-after memory maps are just examples of what can be achieved by designing an optimum memory map for your system.

While the app note was written for DM644x, the concepts should apply in general.

The addressable DDR3A and DDR3B range from DSP and ARM can be found in the memory map of the device datasheet.

Please note that we do not support TCI devices through the e2e forum. Please get in touch with your local FAE for further support.

  • Steve,

Please ignore my last comment on forum support. The XTCIEVMK2X EVM will be supported in this forum.
