board file in linux for omap5432 evm

Hi Nathan,

please specify the exact processor type and board revision, additionally the SDK version you're using.

Anyways, the typical installation of the current SDKs rely on DTS [1], hence a board file as known from earlier Linux versions isn't available anymore.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am using OMAP5432 ES2.0. I directly download the package from ti website, which is GLSDK  6_00_00_07. I am not familiar with the device tree, is there anyway to edit the file to include useful peripherals for my application?

Hi Nathan,

there is already a far newer GLSDK release available [1]. Main difference is that TI has moved away from Ubuntu and now uses Yocto based infrastructure. DTS is spread across multiple files that are included in the main board DTS file, all DTS related files are located in the folder board-support/linux/arch/arm/boot/dts/ - for GLSDK 6.02.01.02, you'd have to run the full setup before you will find the sources.

In the file omap5.dtsi of GLSDK 6.02.01.02, there is mcspi configuration. Maybe this helps understanding the concept. Unfortunately, I can't tell if McSPI is functional. Please check the respective release notes [2] for information regarding working and tested GLSDK features.

Yeah, you are right. The version I am using right now does not have the mcspi configuration in the dtsi file. Maybe I will try the new version SDK for this. Thank you so much for your help.
