Hello,

We are working on a OMAPL138 (dual core-C6748 dsp and ARM9) for one of our image processing application. Also we need to use UART and USB to interact with other subsystems of our entire system. So please let me know whether i can program both DSP (image processing algorithm development) and ARM9 (UART and USB control) using CCStudio only. If so let me know which version of Code composer studio (CCStudio) and the JTAG Emulator has to be used to fulfill our requirement. Kindly reply as soon as possible

Hi Naveen,

yes, for both DSP and ARM9 of OMAPL138, you can develop programs using CCS.

Code Composer Studio supports debugging Linux applications.For more informations on its features, please refer to http://www.ti.com/tool/ccstudio

As per the Descriptions of CCS version 4, it supports all device families: ARM, C28x, C54x, C55x, C6000, DaVinci, MSP430, Stellaris, TMS470, TMS570, Sitara and OMAP. My recommendation would be Version 5. I recommend you to got to http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS#Code_Composer_Studio_Version_5_Downloads and have a look at the Release notes for more information.

Regarding Emulators, XDS100,XDS200 and XDS 560 are the emulators suitable for OMAPL-138. In the product folder of OMAPL138, http://www.ti.com/product/omap-l138, all the informations like development tools, software tools, emulators are given.
