am3359 idk usb connection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3359

Hello,

I've tried to connect the am3359 idk with USB to Windows 7 but nothing happened. No USB devices appear on Window when I connect the USB cable.

Looks similar to the problem of    e2e.ti.com/support/arm/sitara_arm/f/791/t/246470.aspx.

There it is said  the connector is the problem.

How can I check wheter the connector is the problem?

Should I send in the idk?

  • Markus,

what do you expect to happen? The USB on IDK base board is directly connected to the AM3359. So as long as you are not running any software that drives the USB port it will be inactive.

We do not use the USB port in IA-SDK so you won't find any software here.

The ICE boards have USB connectors that are driven by a JTAG emulation device. So they can be used with CCS out of the box. See also schematics for the boards on the TI web.

    regards.

  • Thank you for the quick reply.

    I have another question.

Should I get a feedback at the HyperTerminal if I switch on the board?

I've tested the HyperTerminal with another PC and my seriell communication works.

After booting of the board just the D41 diode blinks every second.

I think mayby the board could be damaged, because 1 time I have put the 24V powersupply in the 5V.

After that a red LED and other LED blinked. I checked the surpressor diodes and the D2 was damaged.

So I outsoldered the D2 and everything seemed to be working fine.

But as I mentioned before I get no connection to the board. I've followed all steps of the user and starter guide.
