eMMC booting in AM335x

Hi,

I have created the xldremmc.img file for the AM335x processor. But, I'm not able to boot from the eMMC. I have flashed the image to the eMMC. I confirmed it by reading the first few sectors of the eMMC from the eboot. Sector 0 contains the header information and from Sector 8 the x-loader contents are available. I just get the continuous 'CCCC's meaning that it is searching for a boot source from UART. I have checked the boot settings and got confirmed that boot settings are set as eMMC only. The below image contains the dump of first few sectors, starting from 0. It contains the header information. My doubt is, whether the header information, as mentioned in the image, is suitable for booting from eMMC. Does AM335x processor expect anything else than this?

UPDATE:

I referred the following links:

and changed the header format. But, still I couldn't make it boot from the eMMC. Previously, 'CCCC's appeared on the console. But, now, it just appears blank without any 'CCCC's.

I tried changing the header format as,

Configuration header (sector 0), followed by GP Header from the next sector (sector 1) , which is followed by the image contents.

The GP Header, which starts at 0x200, contains,

image size (first four bytes) - 83 KB in our case

destination address - 0x402F1000

The Image contents starts from 0x208.

In the configuration headers, I have disabled the section. I'm not aware of its effects. Please guide me solve this issue.

Hi, I may not agree with you. Because we have designed our own hardware based on AM335x processor and before our hardware gets ready we are playing with the beagle bone black.

Our understanding is booting from eMMC is something related to processor specific nothing is associated with beagle bone black.

We are creating X-Loader image as given in Initialization chapter in the TRM. But the target doesn't boots from eMMC and we don't observe anything on console.

Please do let us know how can we proceed on debugging X-Loader booting issues from eMMC on AM335x Processor.
