Hi!
We are currently seeing a problem with bit-flips and ECC errors and UBI mounting problems on an AM335x based board equipped with the Toshiba TC58NVG1 NAND chip. This happens with Linux v3.10, v3.12 and v3.13-rc3. These errors only occur when HW ECC is selected (BCH8). When using SW ECC, no problems have been seen so far. And we have seen no problems with the quite old Linux v3.2.
It works on the same board without any problem with the AMD/Spansion S34ML02G1 ONFI NAND chip.
Here a short log from the UBI mounting:
[ 64.641058] UBI: fixable bit-flip detected at PEB 36 [ 64.711547] UBI: fixable bit-flip detected at PEB 48 [ 64.716966] UBI: run torture test for PEB 48 [ 64.976219] UBI: PEB 48 passed torture test, do not mark it as bad [ 65.015507] UBI: fixable bit-flip detected at PEB 36 [ 65.085584] UBI: fixable bit-flip detected at PEB 48 [ 65.091894] UBI: run torture test for PEB 48
Has anyone else seen such issue with recent Linux kernel versions? And/or is using this Toshiba NAND chip on the AM335x? And ideas welcome.
Thanks,
Stefan
