powering options in ezdsp5535 eval kit

I am using the ezdsp5535 to develop a portable ecg. I am not able to figure out how to power the ezdsp kit using a battery. The ezdsp is easily powered through a usb stick - Is there a way I can use a external power source to power this kit?

Hello Vasantha,

The ezdsp5535 works fine for me with the usb interface. As I am implementing a portable ecg, I wish not to have a laptop/comp near by so that the 5535 kit can act as a stand alone kit.

In this regard, I would like to know if I dont have a comp/laptop nearby, how do I power my ezdsp5535 kit?

( Similar to msp430 launchpad which can be powered easily by a battery. )

Hello Vasantha,

The jumper JP2 on the board needs to be connected to external power source. Somehow happened to miss that part!

Hello Aswin,

Yes, Jumper JP2 is the power source select jumper. When this jumper is shorted the C5535 eZdsp can be powered from the C5535 USB interface (J1). This jumper is shipped in the shorted” state from the factory.
