Restart the host and EVM6678 PCIe detect failed

Hi

I am using EVM6678L and facing a PCIe issue. When I have inserted EVM6678L into PCIe slot and power on the host, the terminal shows TI device by the command "lspci -vvnn -d:b005", everything works fine.(DIP boot mode is PCIe Boot Mode) When I restart Ubuntu instead of power down it, the terminal shows no device  by the command "lspci -vvnn -d:b005". I read many threads about this PCIe issue and know that the link training disconnected(LTSSM_EN = 0)

My question is:

How to resume the link training? How does PC to detect EVM6678L after restart PC ? I modified the value of LTSSM_EN to "1" but nothing happened.

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Model: TMDSEVM6678L Rev.3B + TI AMC To PCIe Adaptor

  • Hi all,

I found a way to detect EVM6678 properly via PCIe after restart PC, but I thought that it's not a good way to resolve the PCIe detect issue on EVM6678.

1.Before restart PC, connect to Core 0 by CCS and Core 0 halt, then [Run]→[Reset]→[System Reset]

2.Restart PC right now, and EVM6678 will be detect successfully

Sometimes it will fail if you do the above too slow. It always fail under the register value of 0x21800004 set to 00000007 but not restart PC yet.(Because when you restart PC, the link training will disconnect(the register value of 0x21800004 set to 00000006))

  • We always power cycle the PC to have 6678 re-enumerated.

    Regards, Eric
