Building an Android SD card

Hi Guys,

I am trying to follow this guide:

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI-Android-JB-4.2.2-DevKit-4.1.1_DeveloperGuide

I am having the following problems:

0) Ubuntu 64 12.0.4.3 is not OK I had to go with 12.04.1 - fixed

1) The link to the repo tool is dead. This made me use the prebuilt image instead

2) The prebuilt image (http://downloads.ti.com/sitara_android/esd/TI_Android_DevKit/TI_Android_JB_4_2_2_DevKit_4_1_1/exports/TI_Android_JB_4.2.2_DevKit_4.1.1.bin) takes ages to download, starts fast then drops to 30K/s.

3) The prebuilt image leaves the image directory empty when I try to build for the starter kit. am335xevm_sk

I could really use a more robust guide. Is there a newer guide for the AM335x Starter Kit?

All I really need is access to the SPI pins to write a SPI program.

Kind regards and merry christmas.

  • For me, I followed this guide carefully for 4.1.2 using the prebuilt image:

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI-Android-JB-4.1.2-DevKit-4.0.1_DeveloperGuide#To_Build_Android_Linux_Kernel

It has been the most reliable build for me so far. If you don't mind using 4.1.2 maybe that will be useful to you.
