Problem with USB on OMAP-L137

Dear all,

I have a problem with USB on OMAP-L137. I inserted a disk in USB connector and then power on the board. When the Linux are booting it prints

usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci and address 2

usb 1-1: not running at top speed; connect to a high speed hub

usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

that implies Disk has been recognized BUT any device was not added to /dev folder. I checked with 1 and 4 GB disks. None of them are correct.

Please, help me on this issue.

Hi Jone,

Please provide us the following information.

1. On OMAPL137, What is the version of linux you are using? Davinci PSP version?

2. Is USB Storage device driver is enabled in the kernel configuration? If it is not done so, please refer to this TI wiki link and enable the device drivers for disk http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/GSG:_Building_Software_Components_for_OMAP-L1/AM1x#Driver_configuration_in_the_Linux_kernel

And also, please provide the complete logs.

1. Please try install & boot with following filesystem. You shall download filesystem from below links.

Thank you for your response

1. My linux version: linux 2.6.18, My PSP version: PSP 02_20_00_07

2. Yes, I have already enabled the USB driver.

Of course, I should mentioned that when I connect the USB after Linux is booted, Linux mounts USB on sda1 correctly. However, I want to boot from USB that needs USB is connected before the board is powered on.

HI Jone,

If you want to boot linux from USB Mass storage devices, you have to first enable the USB and the mass storage support in U-boot.

Dear Shankari,

I have already read the document. when I run "usb reset" command on the u-boot command line the following error occurs:

(Re)start USB...
USB: Error, couldn't init Lowlevel part.
